Cruise is a purebred Morgan Horse. He is only 14 hands high but what he lacks in height, he makes up for in personality. Cruise is fun to ride and always willing to learn new things. He likes to pick things up in his mouth and drop them again, so we try to remember never to put things like brushes or riding crops where he can reach them. Cruise is a liver chestnut with a long white blaze down his face.
Summer Eclipse is called Jessie when we're at home. She is black, half quarter horse and half anglo arab. Jess is very bossy sometimes but underneath her pushy attitude she seems to like people. Jessie and I have been to lots of shows and one day events, as well as navigation rides. She is a lot of fun to ride but she can get a bit fast sometimes and her 'brakes' are not always reliable.
Red Bickham is my chestnut thoroughbred brood mare. She has had three foals, all of them palominos. Red Bickham is friendly and loves to stand very still while she is brushed and fussed over. Sometimes she puts her head in my arms as if she's asking for a cuddle. I am more than happy to oblige because she's so sweet.
Another chestnut (we like redheads at our place), Vital Signs is known at home as ‘Doc’. He was a racehorse once, then a showjumper. Now he is ridden by my daughter at pony club and he does all kinds of different competitions. As well as showjumping, he does one day events, shows, and even games.
Spider was born in September 2005. Because he arrived early he was very weak and for the first twenty four hours he had trouble standing and drinking from his mother. Now he is growing into a lovely palomino horse with a cheeky personality. Spider's show name is Special Talent. He was named after one of my books and he is indeed very special to me.
Haymeron Park Kentucky Man is a purebred Morgan horse. He is a bay, 15.2 hands high, and is called Tuck for short. Tuck is curious and very interested in everything around him. He has big round, intelligent eyes that seem to grow even bigger whenever he sees something new. Tuck is a bright, active horse. His cheeky personality makes him great fun to be around.
Cadence was born on the 22nd September in the middle of the night. She is a Palomino Australian Stock Horse and a very big foal. Cadence’s mother is Bickham and her father’s name is Merool Top Boots, who is the son of Merool Snow Boots.
Jaspar was also born on the 22nd September but in the late afternoon. That meant our whole family were lucky enough to be there to see it happen. Jaspar is a cheeky colt and full of life. He is the first foal to Summer Eclipse. His father is Merool Snow Boots, same as Special Talent.
