Bernadette has been awarded a writer-in-residence fellowship by the May Gibbs Children’s Literature Trust. This involves a stay in Canberra for a month, where as well as doing lots of writing, Bernadette will be spending time visiting students at Canberra schools.

Bernadette Kelly is the author of the Riding High series and the Pony Patch series.
She has written heaps of children’s books including fiction and educational titles.
She is also an experienced horse rider, and this website includes some of Bernadette's tips on horse sense and horse care.

The Riding High and Pony Patch series are now on sale in the USA through Capstone Publishers, with new covers and renamed as the Ridgeview Riding Club and Pony Tales.
The Pony Patch series is published in Australia by black dog books.
